Default No $$ for a Corbin? .. try this guy!

Hey fellow Strom nutz! .. As we all know, the majority of us hate the stock seat. The reality is that we end up trying the various gadgets out there (airhawk, gel seat, etc.), all of it costing us money. Then .. we get fed up and get a custom seat (Corbin, Sargeant, etc.) Now .. there is an "inbetween" fix.

I was looking around the ST1300 forum and found this gentleman who takes apart the stock ST1300 seat, modifies it, puts the skin back on and sends it back to you .. He can do a 24 hour turn around too!

I emailed him ... he has alot of experience with Strom seats as well. He is very knowledgeable and professional. I get my seat back next week.

Email him and tell him what problems you are having with your seat .. maybe he can help you out. Several dudes on the ST1300 forum have had him do mods to thier stock seats .. MANY of them rave about his work. Very reasonable prices as well.

Here is his website:

I will get out on my newly modded seat when it arrives and give a review!

cheers!

Dinosore,

I am interested in knowing what modifications you are making to your seat as well as a report upon receipt.

Thanks!

Default changes to seat

My seat is being reconfigured for my weight, riding position, my passenger pillion is getting the same thing in relation to my GF's weight as well. Spencer uses a variety of techniques and materials based on what you tell him. My advice is for you to email Spencer at his shop .. tell him what is bothering you about your seat, and he will tell you what he thinks needs to be done. My seat is going to cost roughly $95 USD to modify .. that is pretty much the "works". Lowered, reshaped, gel fitting for me and high density foam in the passenger pillion and reshaping based on what my GF wants the seat to be like. He takes your inseam, riding position on the seat and whether or not you have risers into consideration. You really need to email him to fully understand how much this guy knows about seats!!

I will post the review next week sometime.

Jeff

Dinosore,

Thanks for the information!

I look forward to your review, clearly an interesting option at less than $100 Usd!

Dinosore, I've got an ST1300 and had Spencer do his mods on the stock seat. I also had a Corbin for the ST that was OK but just not quite right. I found that I liked the mods he did on the stocker so much that I sold the Corbin. It cost me $50 plus shipping both ways then. Is it higher now? I predict you will lilke it. I've got a corbin on my Strom and happy with it, but if I didn't have it, I'd go with Spencer's mods.

I don't think he has raised prices .. I think it just depends on what he has to do to the seat. Maybe he has a few more options than when you had yours done?? Either way .. VERY reasonable. I also have it from a reliable source that he is going to be featured in RIDE magazine (Sept). With exposure like that .. don't count on him having room for too many dudes in his schedule going into Sept! I am VERY confident that the mod is going to be great .. If I was someone that wanted my seat done based on good, solid reviews from the ST1300 boyz, I would contact him sooner than later.

Don't wait for my review fellas .. get a hold of Spencer NOW and get booked into the schedule!!

Can't beat that!
