After spending many hours doing research online for a helmet communications/entertainment system, I have nearly settled on the Sena SMH10 for the base rider/passenger to rider system and using an ipod Nano gen 7 for an FM radio and loaded music via Bluetooth. The Nano is 4.0 and is backwards compatible with the Sena's 3.0 Bluetooth. Is this worthwhile?

Lots of guys on here love their Sena SMH10. I've had a pair that I've been using for about a year and a half / 18000 miles. I absolutely love mine. Worth every penny.

I use autocomm with, XM radio, GPS (garmin 376c), CB radio, radar detector (which has voltage warning) for bike to bike, bike to passenger, plus I can communicate with truckers ref road conditions radar/laser traps etc when I am on the open hiway. I have used the same unit on 4 different bikes for last 15 years or so.

For a simple non-expensive unit I would do the smh10. Me and my wife have used it for years with no issues except once and sena replaced the unit immediately. All 4 of my neighbors use it too. I'm able to pair with my gps and phone and my friends at the same time with no problems. I've used mine in pouring rain, dirt, heat, and everything in between for miles on end. Good battery life as well. I used the chatterbox in the past and was disappointed leading me to this product.
If you do decide to buy the sena, rocketmoto vendor on the advrider forum has a group buy going that is by far the cheapest price you will find and excellent customer service. Sent from my iPhone using Motorcycle.com Free App |

Hey everyone. The wife and I have settled on the Sena as the best choice for our comms system for between our bikes, now the next choice is where to order from.
I have checked several retailers in Canada and the US, and of course the States seems to beat us on price by quite a lot of $. I have seen posts from people saying they have ordered from the States and that shipping was only $10 or so, but they are not mentioning any sort of duty pr taxes they had to pay. Does anyone have this information? I am all for buying through a Canadian distributor, but if I can save almost $100, I will go through the States. Cheers, and thanks for any help you can provide. Also check the Sena SMH-5 as a less expensive alternative. John

I've been looking for the comm system and all of my research has directed me to the SMH-10.
I'd like to know from others here whether you prefer helmet speakers or earbuds with your SMH-10.
