Greetings -

Have been lurking here off and on, my handle might be familiar from a few other boards. My name is Nils and I have a DL1K3 that I purchased in 2006 in Portland Oregon. This was my 'away' bike for several years, as I lived near Boston at the time, and I used it to tour the west with my brother and my wife.

Behold The Warthog!!

So named because it is fairly homely by now. The PO dropped or lowsided it on each side a few times on his way to Panama and back, I threw it into a swamp once myself, and lost the pannier lids a few times resulting in them being flattened and then beaten back into shape. It's been ridden hard, occasionally put away wet, and it owes me nothing at this point. I love this bike.

I've since moved to Santa Cruz, CA and after 6 years the bike and I are reunited along with my lift and tools, so I am giving the old boy a good going over before I outsource it somewhere else - I've got a few other bikes in the stable and so this one is probably going back to Arizona for a year or so.
