I joined a while ago with the intention of buying a Wee as i used to own a Vee back in 2007 which i loved...anyway after the Vee i've gone through a KTM950, R1, FZ1, TDM900, ZX10R, Tiger 1050, CB600 and now a FZ8...i WILL buy the Wee next lol. The FZ8 is up for sale but it seems the market in Canada is very seasonal unlike the UK from where i sneaked out of. Hopefully it goes soon and i can land a 2012 Wee

What part of southern Ontario are you in? Strangely many people in Ontario have already out there bikes away which explains the seasonal market. If you haven't already you might want to poke around the Canadian section in regional forums.

Very close to you Tom actually...just up from Beeton, near Cookstown. Yeah i'm in a bike group and 95% of them have stopped riding. I'll ride all year as long as there's no snow on the road. With me selling the FZ8 i've not been out on it on the recently salted roads for obvious reasons...but if doesn't sell soon i may have to!

Most people have stopped rifding, but I'm like you and will ride until there is snow on the roads or if there is a likelyhood of snow on the roads by the time I get home. (I actullay live north and east of Newmarket. If Barrie gets two feet of snow I generally get one. It's a bummer as sometimes the roads are fine a few km's from me.) Are you riding with Southern Cruisers? A friend of mine (Shirley) rides with them and lives in Cookstown. She has a Honda Shadow.

I've learnt that Barrie is a bit of a snow trap...i first came over in Nov '11 and lived there for 6 months so saw a fair bit but i work in Barrie and Toronto so would see a big difference just going down the 400.
No, i'm a member of http://www.rollingthunderbarrie.ca/ ...bunch of nice, friendly folk. Cool, that you ride all year too, i'll give you a shout sometime when i get the Strom I bought my FZ8 from Newmarket Yamaha/Suzuki so if i can't sell privately i may just trade it in for one of thier Stroms...they are a good bunch down there and gave me a great deal on the FZ.

All this talk of Barrie has me getting all misty-eyed. Though I'm in Pennsylvania now, my first ride was 35 years ago on a Honda 250 Elsinore. My friend (CanAm 250) and I used to drive up with the van every Sunday from the Toronto area to Farmer Brown's. I wonder if it still exists. It was a laid-back dirt track and trail 'outback' of sorts. Never actually met Farmer Brown, or figured out how he made a living. But what a great, free-for-all mecca for dirt and enduro bikes.
