Hello everyone. Just bought a '07 Wee with just over 12k miles, new stock tires and a few farkles like center stand, Givi trunk box and heated grips. I'm originally from Colombia, South America, from the mountains of Medellin so it is sooo nice to have the WNC mountains so close.
I have been going out with a friend in a KLR650 and yesterday another in a BMW1150GS joined us on a trip around Saluda and Dupont Forest with plenty of gravel and twisties. Awesome ride!
Anyway, I'm by no means a great off road driver, but I feel there's not much those two bikes can do on gravel and double track than the Wee can't, driver being about 80% IMHO.
My impressions so far: absolutely necessary to have handguards if you ride in the winter and the skid plate is a must have of you get off pavement, so those two have been ordered. Planning on installing a marine grade cigarette lighter and handlebar mount for my android (poor man's GPS). I know the battlewings are not the best for offroad but they do fine, and they make feel safe when cornering.
I'm open to suggestions on everything and look forward to riding with fellow strommers. Hope to spend more time sitting on my Wee's stock seat than in front of the pc reading this forum.
