Hey guys. I figured I'd stop by and say hey. My dad and I both ride and have riden to Alaska twice now. We both love the ride we want to continue to do it in the future. We both own KLRs. They have done us well and took us up and back safe and sound...all and all a great entry level (cheap) way to get a ride...
What we noticed on the second trip was another motorcycle may fit our needs and style of riding better than the KLR. So the search was on. The V-Strom rated way high on the list for me. I rode some other bikes but unfortunatly couldn't do more than sit on a couple. But I read everything I could. I relayed most of this to my dad. We started looking and he found a 2012 V-Strom 650 ADV fairly close for a good price and bought it two days ago.
So I'm still saving for mine.
..but I was so impressed with the bike I am now sure it is the bike I want. Dad loves it too. There are a few accesories we need to figure out...like handgaurds and skid plate...etc...looking forward to researching on this site.
