Default Howdy From Corpus Christi

I've browsed this forum for a while now. Being a new DL650 (adv) owner I figure it's time I became a proper member. When I first got "the itch" I was lookig at the Kawasaki Vulcan 900. Pretty nice cruiser, good price, but I came to realize I wanted a more versatile bike. The Versys caught my eye and I almost got one. It's a really nice platform, but I'm too long for it (6'1''-6'4" depending on which Stripes corner store I'm leaving). As I was researching the Versys, I read about the ugly, old, workhorse bike it was a direct competitor for. I never thought of it was ugly, but it did seem a bit dated. But I could see that this was exactly the bike I wanted, the best bang for the buck IMO out there. I looked around for a used one but couldn't find one with decent low miles (that's a clue). What really sealed the deal for me was Suzuki's 0% for 60 mos. financing offer. I thought "this is a bait and switch, nobody actually gets this deal". The guy was like "you're approved" so I was like "well shit, I guess I'm gettin' a bike". I could not be more thrilled. This is pretty much exactly what I wanted. I'm just into the break-in by about 180 miles. This bike rocks! It's hot as fried hell in south Texas right now, but when "Fall" (Ha! Not that we have seasons here...) rolls around I'll be hitting the back roads.

Thanks, and don't I know it! When I got serious about getting a bike and started doing my homework the DL650 was IT. There's no question in my mind about another bike in this category/displacement.
