I work in somewhat of a self-obsessed and delusional industry, so I’ve been finding the need for years to pull myself away from the fray and escape.
I made it out to Vietnam last year for a month, and bought a motor bike – a 350 cc Honda Win – and taught myself how to ride on the chaotic and lawless roads of Hanoi, and ended up making my way across the country to Ho Chi Minh city. I’ve always loved traveling, but the freedom of being on a bike and being able to get up and leave and go wherever whenever totally changed me. I can’t go back. I’m like the little kid who saw Point Break (don’t know why I just picked that movie) and now all of a sudden Spongebob doesn’t seem so cool any more. Don't have a bike yet. Been doing a bunch of research, and am thinking a 2008 or so DL650. I’ll be traveling for the next month or so for work, so I’ve got some time to decide. My season ends in January, so I plan to ride to Rio next year, and go to carnival. That gives me about 6 months to tweak my bike and make the add ons and adjustments I want for the trip. Glad I found the community! |

The wee is a nice bike, comfortable to ride, can get decent mpg and can do long days in the saddle. You may find it to be an ideal mode of transportation.
