Default Bought a wee-strom ADV, happy to have it.

I've ridden for about 4 years and have gone through a few bikes constantly searching for that magical one. Closest I had was a Gen I FJR, but I thought i needed something different (I never took it above 5k RPM, never rode it hard, and thought I needed a ton of electrical power) Then I got a Vision for the wife and me. And she promptly ended up with a job that allowed her to ride with me about...twice a month. So for a year and a half I was making payments on a very expensive 15 mile commuter.

Well, with 0% APR, we both decided it'd be better for us financially to get rid of the high payment touring bike that we, ironically, never toured on. I hear pretty much nothing but good about the v-strom 650, and I've always thought that the specs on it make it seem like a "mini-FJR".

We made a deal, and I'm now the happy owner of a 2012 Weestrom Adventure. I've got luggage, I get good gas mileage, I've never been a high revver so this bike should be fine for me being an early shifter, and she is very comfortable on the back for those times she DOES get to ride.

Well, time for me to continue hitting the forums and, of course, post my first question. Thanks much, and I look forward to breaking it in, and some fun commuting!

Alexi

Alexi, welcome aboard. after the break in period, do use the rev band. Our engines hum between 5000 and 6000, and higher rpms get the job done when you need acceleration to pass safely.
