Soon to be new Stromer

Hello all!

My name is Austin but most call me Z

I am not new to motorcycles at all. Love em all and will ride anything. What makes me different is that I do it while being an enormous fat-ass . LOL Still riding MX, Dual sporting, track days, supermoto, road, Ice, whatever gets me on two wheels. But do it all as a Clydesdale HAHAHA

Picking up a yellow 2003 Vee (DL1000) this Sunday. I had to have it as I heard yellow is the fastest color

Its got the full luggage and a few other bits with 22k on the odometer.

I plan on using it for Mostly road, commuting, 2 up , & light dirt usage

Anything I should keep an eye out for? I read a little but about common things but found it was all over the place so any hints are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

-Z

Good looking bike! I just picked up an 02 with similar mileage and it has been great. Coming from sportier bikes myself, I have found the suspension to be lacking on the Vee, despite my being a lightweight, so I feel suspension upgrades would go a long way. Other than that I think the bike has great power, will last forever and will be a lot of fun.

Yeah, Suspension parts have already been ordered... Dude my size has to rebuild and set up suspension for any bike but at least I have gotten decent at it over the years HAHAHA

I am a little OCD with care, set-up, and maintenance in general. So pretty much next week changing all fluids, serviceables, and run through everything.

I have the exact same bike. bought it new and never had a minutes trouble. 03 had a few little things that many owners corrected such as the clutch chudder (fixed by a real Shelby werkes clutch) a studder at 3500-4000 rpm, fixed by a power commander and some need a new seat. other than that it is bullet proof. I am selling mine now because of health problems and it will be very hard to see it go.
