I recieved a Paypal charge from Verticalscope.Inc, for $20.00. I never heard of these people before so this got my attention! Called the Verticalscope # on the Paypal page, still didn't find out what they were or what the charge was for, so I opened a case with Paypal. I was finally able to talk with customer service rep at Paypal, was finally able to find out what this was. Auto renewal from Stromtrooper. Now, this was fine, I always support the site. But,my complaint is, there should be a notice emailed BEFORE this takes place,and, or, the name on the charge should be something the members recognize.
If a notice was sent I didn't see it, just wanted to save this hassle for anyone else by sending this, I know I get excited when someone is fooling around with my money, I imagine most people do!

Some of these emails can end up in your spam folder.

I'm glad to support this forum, but my PayPal was double-billed by Verticalscope for a total of $40.

Mine did the same on Jan 17 and 19.........send an email to the Administrator and he'll get it corrected. They have refunded my $20.

If you want to cancel the automatic renewal you need to log in to your paypal account and click the "unsubscribe" to automatic renewals option.

I like this site, and I don't mind supporting things that are valuable to me, by contributing content that is hopefully part of the value of the site to others and with good old fashioned cash. I think that's a reasonable expectation - that one should try to contribute in some way.

However I asked for a small amount of help to restore a bit of broken functionality from the admins of this site, and although one of the volunteer moderators tried several times on my behalf to get them to fix it, we were both ignored by the folks at Vertical Scope that own this commercial site for about 2 weeks (so far). Hey, it's not the end of the world, but it's not acceptable either.

So I voted with my feet and unsubscribed. I'll still be a 'premium member' (for what little value that actually has) till December, but not thereafter.

The volunteers that moderate this site are incredible BTW. Props and thanks to them.

I have a motorcycle problem.

I get auto-renewal emails when any subscriptions are due to renew. That's the way it works. From running my own site that has a subscription service integrated with vBulletin, I do get some subscriptions where the person never checks the emails that are associated with their Paypal account. Pretty frustrating when I want to thank them, they never know it. So, be sure to check your Paypal email accounts.

I have been waiting a week with no response to my post regarding being billed twice ($40) and I am still getting emails from Verticalscope that my subscription is unpaid! Pretty shoddy forum operation!!!
