Just like the male riders here, some of us have long legs and some don't.

It's pretty easy to lower the VStrom.

I'm 5'4" with a 29" inseam and I ride the wee. I did lower it with lowering links and modify the seat. I'll neveer be able to flat foot it, but I haven't had any problems in the 15 months (11,000 miles) I've had it!

I'm almost 5'8" and I used the lowering links. I could have left it, but I felt more in control with that inch or so lower. Escpecially when riding in downtown Toronto traffic :0

Default 29 inch legs work

I'm 5'10" and have 29" legs and have ridden 93,000km on a stock height Vee. The Sargent seat helps because it's narrow at the front so when I slide forward I touch the ground better. Fully loaded with my wife aboard I do certainly have to be careful on uneven ground.

Default oops

I forgot to mention that climbing aboard is a bit of a stunt; specially if the rear seat is loaded with luggage. Dressed in a Road Crafter suit I usually have climb up the pegs.

I'm only 5'5" and have a 26in inseam. I've had my wee for about 9 months, and almost 5000km, and I have just had it lowered. Didn't really have any problems at the stock height except for trying to back up when parking.
I'm sure your wife will love riding a wee, I got mine for our 20th wedding anniversary
Here in Oz, we don't have as many seat options as our US friends, so I'm trying to get one secondhand to modify.

Default flat footing is not necessary...

...I am 5 8, so that's not all that tall and I do not have a long inseam. I ride a vstrom, and while it is not lowered, I have have replaced the seat with a carved-out Corbin. I prefer not to mess around with the lean and clearance of the bike by lowering it. The 'Strom is too much fun the way it is.

The carved-out seat makes it a little easier to park, although I still have an occasional issue and have to hop off to park the bike. If the rider is experienced and uses proper technique, the ability to flatfoot both feet is just overkill.
