I recently bought my girlfriend a First Gear TPG Monarch. Its the 2009 model, not the new 2010 version. She was jealous I bought a new jacket, now I am jealous of her jacket. She is small 5'4 and weighs maybe 115, but she has a large chest. Most coats never fit so good "up top". She loves this coat. I am amazed with the quality, The inner liner is even a coat itself. Nothing but praise from her. Got it off ebay for $85 new, it retails for around $300

Talking Ladies Clothing

Have you ladies heard of Aerostich/RiderWearHouse Motorcycle Jackets, Suits, Clothing, & Gear :: Aerostich/RiderWearHouse Motorcycle Jackets, Suits, Clothing, & Gear. out of Duluth. Take a look. I order the catalog every year. It's hours of bed time entertainment in the winter. Tee Hee! They have one piece and two piece suites that last a life time.

Their sizing is pretty flexible to fit us tall and short ladies. Check out the sizing on line or in the catalog.

Take a look let me know what you think.

Linda

RuggedRider

Nicole specializes in dual sport, but might be worth a try since, as a rider, she knows whereof you speak. She's mending a busted clavicle right now.

Tall women have my sympathy for finding riding gear, wife is 5'11" and needs extra talls in jeans, long arms too. Guess what, she's had to buy guy's gear all her riding life.

We spoke directly to distributors and even manufacturers for a solid 10 years and it does nothing to change their product lines. The majority of women aren't 5'10" plus and they can't see their way to make a run of gear that won't sell, in their eyes. They have it in their heads that pink and white and flowery tribal crap in sizes 4-7 are all that's needed.

Buy guy's gear that fits with the least amount of compromise and get to know a good tailor who isn't afraid to reconstruct a jacket or pants. Or if your budget allows, full custom. Leathers....Z's, textile....Motoport or Aerostitch. Off the rack, she's never found women's pants anywhere close to a 35-36 inseam, jackets...one or two are out there...Tourmaster Trinity Series II are available in plus and/or tall sizes.

At 6'4" I feel her pain. All my riding gear is guy's sizes. I would kill for some really nice girl gear that had some style. No pink unicorns please...

My girlfriend is tall as well. We ended up with a Transitions II jacket that she is very happy with the fit. It is cut with enough room in the chest and the arms are long enough as well. We tried a Kilimanjaro but the overall cut was binding across the back in order to fit the chest and the neck was too loose.
Next is pants. I wear a 38 long in motorcycle pants and her legs are longer than mine. She wears extra long in jeans. We are going to try women's Rev It pants in a long. I'll post a report when we do.

If I don't get the right fitting for the jackets I bought online my tailor is the solution. It's hard to be fashionable while on the road for me.

This is a great thread, and my wife is really ticked off that she can't find any gear, so far, that fit her the way a woman wants.

All her life she's had clothing that fit her body, and she's very selective. Until now, we've looked, shopped, sampled and have given up so far. She can't find any gear that will fit her - properly.

She's 5'6" 120lbs, so average height and weight I would guess. Don't snicker, but her measurements are 36-25-35, not athletic, but athletic/girly build. Anyway, nobody can help her find gear that will match my standard male setup.

I have Klim gear, and wanted her to get the same but after trying it on she just doesn't feel, or look, they way she wants to. The technical gear we want should perform properly, yet allow her to feel the way she wants to feel.

I would like it too, because she works hard at looking the way she does and shouldn't have to wear boxy men's riding apparel.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the Teiz Powersports "Revolution". Especially since they are a sponsor on this site. It's a custom made one piece suit designed by a woman for women. It's a bit pricey, and if you are built like a fire plug you will look like a fire plug in a one piece suit. You will not look like Cindy Crawford. Sorry.
I have no affiliation with Teiz Powersports, other than I own one of their Lombard suits and am very happy with it.

Here is their website:Revolution

Here is a review by a young lady who goes by "Bluepoof".
Teiz Revolution | Bluepoof's Adventures

There is also a thread about the suit on ADV rider under "Vendors".

I hope I am not breaking any rules by posting the links.

This thread is a year or more old... and it doesn't seem like much has changed - I'm just starting to search for gear. I've bought a helmet, have hiking boots, borrowing a jacket and gloves for the class (this weekend! ), but I thought it would be easier to find a jacket etc for when I get a bike (watching the classifieds etc for used ones to practice on before I graduate to a wee).

Any jacket suggestions for a 5'8", D-chested gal? Not costing an arm and a leg is a plus.... My job got offshored so I'm in a limbo job-hunting too right now, unfortunately, which is really putting a crimp in my motorcycle plans.
