Here's how I made just one year's subscription payment to Verticalscope for this excellent forum:
Click on the Upgrade My Subscription in the Welcome box in the upper right.
Note that it promises Less Ads (when it should promise Fewer Ads and we'd like No Ads)
Carry through with the PayPal process
--now--
In PayPal's current layout (probably to be changed within minutes of posting this) click on My Account, Profile, My Money, My Preapproved Payments-Update, click on VerticalScope, then cancel them. Whew.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.

Smile Verticalscope withdrawal cancellation

Very good info. I noticed while in there that I had an active account for future shop, 2 for Verticalscope, plus others. All Cancelled now. I will still renew my my membership every year due to its good content, but no more auto withdrawals.

Thanks for this insight into paypal.

Brian

So I keep hearing about these double charges that people are getting for doing the premium subscription...is there a way to get a premium subscription without getting double charges every year and without having too jump through all the hoops described above with PayPal? Is the only other option sending in a check every year?

The only way to get a double charge is to do an additional PayPal payment after the first year. That's how a double charge occurs. Just sign up once. Your premium membership will be renewed each year automatically.
