Default Headed to the Keys

Hey guys, just wanted to let the extremely south Floridians know that my lonely Strom, 3 Gold Wings & 3 Harley's are heading to the Keys for the Offshore Boat Racing Championships.
And I'm gonna try & get in a couple of dives while I'm down there too, if anyone is around & interested in going!

We're gonna stop in Gainesville, Fl Tuesday night, & the Ft. Lauderdale Wednesday night.. Don't know who is where, but say hey if you're around!!

I'll try and update this as we go, I think we're gonna take "back roads" the whole way down. Maybe take 441, or 129 down the first day.

Hey everyone, sorry I didn't get around to posting the first 2 days.

My might Wee all ready to go!

So we waited til around 1pm Tuesday to leave because it rained all morning..
My dad & I met everyone down the road, low & behold all 3 of the Harley's, & 1 Wing were on the trailer. The guy with the Wing was driving, so he kinda gets a break. We rode the highway the whole way to make up some miles since we were starting so late.
Anyways, it started in the mid 40's & didn't get into the 60's til Valdosta, right as the sun was setting.. We kept pushing on down 75 to Gainesville, Fl. When we got there, the Harley's finally got off the trailer & rode to the hotel for the night. Don't get me wrong, the guys are super nice, but c'mon, ride the thing!

Got up the next morning & jumped on 75 to the turnpike, got off at FL Hwy 580 in Orlando and cut the state in half, rode all the way over to US1 & found a place to eat lunch near Cape Canaveral. After a delicious foot long hotdog at Dog's R' Us we took off for Ft. Lauderdale. It was still chilly outside! Crazy cool weather down here.. Traffic was awful, but it always is. Seemed like all the crazies were out. Stopped by Bimini Boat yard (my favorite) & had a Mojito from Tim, some Bimini Bread, & Angle Hair Pasta. If you've never been, you should definitely go check it out. It's one of my favorite places to go in Ft. Lauderdale, & Tim makes the best damn mojito in South Florida..

So, today we made it into Key West. What an awesome ride coming through all the Key's and over all the bridges. It's so beautiful down here.. Nothing eventful for the ride down, we just took our time and meandered down US 1. The air is still really crisp, & good Lord at the wind!! Had to ride sideways across the 7 Mile bridge..

I think we're about to head somewhere for dinner, I'll report back with more later!!

P.S. I got my Caribou Panniers in a day before we left, & Just want everyone to know that the Caribou luggage cases are phenomenal. I've always used Pelican cases for my camera, production gear, & I love the little add ons they do to enhance them for luggage. I've thoroughly enjoyed them and would recommend them to anyone looking for something a little different & indestructible..
