Thanks for the compliments Stuart. I'm glad you enjoyed the report. Like you I had always read a lot of great trip reports on this board and a few others and it motivated me to get going and make our own contribution.

My wife and I started out on short overnight trips and worked our way into longer trips. Take that Holiday and enjoy yourselves!

Great trip report... I am planning something similar in late August but will be going on to Newfoundland and then back through Canada (I live in Ontario).

I noticed that you didn't go through Adirondack Park... any particular reason?

Martin, I think when I was looking at my route plan for that segment and the following segment to Maine I was just trying to get from point A to point B as fast as possible.

I looked at a route thru Adirondack then onto Portland Maine but I think the addtional time and milage was too much for what I wanted to do on that day especially since we had to cover approx. 600 miles the previous day.

I would have liked to spent more time in that region for sure!
