Not any more. LOL. They pretty much cleaned up all of downtown Dartmouth, and made changes to the zoning laws to prevent Strip joints from coming back.. There are a couple of new pubs and coffee shops in the area and there working on getting more retail on Portland Street as well.

The only other such club in the area is called Ralphs Tavern. It's on Main St next to Hooters.

Dang! Well I left law school at Dal in 1988, I guess a few things had to have changed since then. The Midtown and the Sea Horse in Halifax are still there, I hope.

Midtown - check

Seahorse - I think so, but cannot't absolutely say for certain. I'd heard they were "having problems" last year, which usually means no money and *poof*, closed...

Yep, LOTS of cleaning up happening around town these days.

Default hmmm........

As I sit here looking at a wall art decoration and the waste can in the kitchen I recall going into Bed, Bath, and Beyond in Ft. Wayne, Indiana two years ago and buying them. Born in Peru, Indiana in 1948 and lived there 29 years before wife and I moved "out west." We think of our courtship and friends and family still there and at times think of moving back east but, haven't done it yet. The July and August humidity of Hoosier land always come to mind?

We loved your post of your trip and it looks to have been great fun. Since we currently live in Wyoming our bike trips tend to go west and we do more of the northern California to the north end of Vancouver Island kind of thing. Similar sights but instead of the sun rising over the ocean it sets there. The Oregon coast is a nice trip and the seafood is the kind of stuff we never get in Wyoming.

Glad it was a safe and pleasant journey and here's hoping you two get to have many more of them.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the comments Flint. I'd have to say I'm a little envious of your new digs in Wyoming. You live in one of the greatest regions in the country (IMO). We are currently looking at a westward trip that routes us through the Dakotas and into Wyoming. It must be great to have all that wonderful scenery at your fingertips! In northern Indiana it's very easy to become bored with the local roads and anything remotely interesting is 2 or 3 hours away just south of Indy.

I can't imagine what it would be like to live out west, I would think there would be no shortage of inspiration to go riding!

Make a run to the NW from Fort Wayne, sometime. Running up the coast of Lake Michigan makes for a scenic ride, and there are some cool small towns along the way.

However, I have to agree - out west rocks!

Here are a few pics that didn't make the story line of the trip report. I like them so I though I would share.

I know I'm coming in a bit late here with my reply, but I've just passed a very pleasant hour reading through this thread. I'd just like to say thanks for taking the time to share your report and photographs. My compliments on the photos by the way, some extremely nice shots in here.

Looks like you had a great trip, and your report has strengthened my resolve to try a touring holiday of some sort with the wife on our Wee - even if it's just for a few days. Thanks again,

Stuart
