Default Givi E33 top box installation

Installed the Givi E33 top box purchased in Minneapolis from Midwest Cycle. I wanted a smaller box for everyday use. It comes with it's own mounting pad which installs on the Strom's factory rack. Metal tabs are used to hold the pad to the rack. When you unpack the hardware you will find that the bolts supplied are too short to reach these metal anchors when placed under the rack. Looking at the anchors, you see that each has three bends, one in the center for the bolt to pass through, and two others to accomodate other installations. Straighten these two other bends and you will have exactly enough bolt length. I pinched them in a vise to do so. You don't want the mounting pad to interfere with seat removal so set it back a little on the rack. Eyeball the factory rack bolt holes making certain that you can reach them when the pad is in place. I had to carve away a little plastic to get a socket on these bolts. The bag would not mate with the latch until I pushed down on the bottom of the box from the inside.
Careful tightening the bolts - it's easy to over tighten.
That's it, hope this saves you some time if you decide to use this rack.

Very nice photo layout. Did your rack come from the factory in black?

Yes, that colour-combination (matt black) is not sold in the US or Canada.
