Default Thoughts on this 12V tire pump $35

Sorry I did a search but had no luck finding related posts.

Saw this on Ebay and wanted your opinion, seems okay but the low price has me wondering about quality/usefulness.

Ebay Item number: 170429857714

Ps: is it okay to post web links?

Thanks!

Price is comparable to the Slime one that many of us have--

Awesome feedback thank you, I think I'll look at getting this one.

Ps: is there anywhere posted a summary list of the usual Wee farkles with ratings next to them.

I just purchased my first Wee today (yeah!) and this searching everywhere for folk's feedback on stuff is tiring. I could just keep sending out posts but I know these questions have been posted millions of times and I don't want to piss folks off with tonnes of newbie questions.

Thanks again!

Don't do it!!!!
Canadian tire has 12V pumps on sale nearly every few weeks for 9-12 bucks, (Depending on the week).

I have 3 of them and had one of them for 18 yrs, used it countless times with a plug kit, best price/place for plug kits is at princess auto or walmart.

This one doesn't even come with a plug kit. What's the point of inflating your tire if your not gonna fix it?

You can get a better compressor/plug kit for less than 1/2 that.

The slime kit is no better being several hundred % overpriced.

Jeeze, maybe I should make a kit and sell it

Ken

I've used a portable, dc pump from Walmart for several years now. Cost $10 and about half the size of a cigar box. I use it for airing back up after off-road, and topping off car tires occassionally.

Not to sound like an ass****, but check this link, I put it together around Xmas and I found a Shiite load of info that i wished I had read before trying to do a tire change myself. There are pump related questions and answers in it!

http://www.stromtrooper.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=48128

Not to mention, a lot of the Stromtroopers have bought the cheaper pumps and torn them apart or removed the palstic for portability while travelling.

Hope this helps.

Hi Ken, (fellow BCer) thanks for the heads up. I have a couple of those CND pumps for my car and other bikes.

I was thinking this slimer model might have a smaller footprint but I like the idea of ripping the plastic off and just packing the guts.

Here's how they did it on Web Bike World web site:

http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcyc...cles/air-pump/

Ps: I managed to purchase a new wee today for $7200 plus taxes and levys. I could have got a black one for $7000 but I heard silver is faster.

Pps: can you send me a link for your homemade fender extender?

Thanks also for the tire plug kit suggestion at Pricess Auto I'll pick up one of those as well. Any certain kind/styl or do they all work the same ?

Cheers....

First of all, I'll never consider myself a BC'er, I'm a NFLD'er through and true.. Came out here in late 08, will be going back to NS in 2011.

CT has 3-4 different models of 12V pumps, probably all can be taken apart for a smaller package. I haven't done it too mine.

I don't have a link to the extender. My DIY extender was made from the bottom of a black plastic pan. It was cracked so it rendered it pretty much useless. I cut the bottom out of it, shaped it and heated it with my heat gun to match the curve of the fender, and used 3 small screws to attach it.

The plug kits are similar at CT, WM, and PA. CT will be 8-10 bucks where as the other will be 3-5. It should have a serrated awl tool, one to put the plug in, and a bunch of plugs, that look like worms. Some have a small tube of rubber cement as well.

Hope this helps.

Oh and congrats on the new bike!!!!!

Ken
