Hello everyone. Here are a few wildlife shots from the last couple of weeks. Some elk, mulies and whitetails. All shot with my Nikon D600 and Nikkor 300mm F4 lens.

I took my time getting close to this Mulie Buck, slowly working my way closer in.

I eventually got to within 25 feet or so of him. He got so used to me that he took a little nap right in front of me.

These last few were taken out in the plains around some juniper breaks

As I was slowly walking up to these two juvenile mule deer, they kept looking out to the north east. When I got a little closer, I found out what they were looking at. Two large coyotes were hidden in the grass stalking the deer. Looks like I ruined their chance at these two mulies. You can see one of the coyotes running through the grass in the center-right of this shot.

That's it for now. I have a lot from the past couple of weeks, but these are some of the better ones.

Great photos! I was just in Loveland three weeks ago.

Just before Christmas I am set to move back to CO, after living near Seattle for nearly four years. I have wanted to return "home" the entire time. I can't wait!

Amazing images, as one might expect from a $7k lens. You obviously took some time to get a little bit closer for better pics. Nice job and thx for sharing.

Glad to have you back! I've never been out on the west coast. I am sure there are some great areas over there, but I think I'd miss these Rocky Mountains too much.

BTW, this is an older lens I picked up used at Adorama for $450.00 in new condition. It is the older AF model, not the new AF-S model (that one sells for around $1500.00.

The holy grail of lenses for me would be the Nikkor 600mm F4 VR AF-S. I'd have to sell my bikes and my jeep to be able to afford it though as it is a $10,000.00 lens.
