My Canon T4i DSLR has HD video capabilities with a built-in mic. The mic is barely decent.....no....it's terrible! I've been Googling about recording audio to an external device such as a pro Sony digital unit that I have and then synching it to the video portion using video editing software. From what I've been able to discover, it is definitely possible. Anyone have any experience with this?

Is there a jack for an external mic?
If that would over-ride the on-board bike, then that could save you some work . . .

Yes it does, and the audio is FAAAAAR better with the external mic I am now using. What I was describing above is simply something I would like to play around with and expand my limited knowledge of this fast-advancing technology.
