Default Anyone interested?

My new Canon T4i camera has arrived with a 18x135mm Fm-S lens. I've spent the last few days becoming acquainted with it and want to take some pics of a rather original house in north Louisiana. This particular home is a cobbled together web of corrugated rusted tin and rustic cypress board, plus a bunch of junk scattered around the property. Wanna see it? If the owner doesn't shoot me as a perceived 'revenoor', these will be some fine pics. These pics will show Louisiana rural living at its best! I'll title my thread as "Louisians Redneck Mansion". Give me a few days. Maybe 2 weeks.

Maybe we won't see you again, revenoor.

Love to see the pics. I like pics of old buildings.

Here's one I took of a shed just up the road in suburban Sydney.

I'm now having an issue with the camera not recognizing the SD card. It's done this off and on since I received the camera. Usually, removing and reinserting the card will solve the problem but it's not working. I'll pick up another card tomorrow and see if that helps. BTW, good pick of that old barn. I was out riding and scoping barns, shops, and interesting houses today that I want to shoot.

My brother has a camera that uses SD cards and loaned me one of his cards to test my problem. The card he loaned me works just fine so evidently the Sandisk is flawed. I'll be back in business soon.

wow! success...finally.

8/30/12; I came back to this pic to add a little more info as this was my first successful upload from Flickr. As you look thru my photos, you'll see another view of this tin home. This view is my second shot as I eased past the house...I would stop and shoot a pic from my truck.

Louisiana home building at its best! Part of the house is somewhat hidden by trees and brush. It appears that the home was built in steps and cobbled together with corrugated tin. Lots of junk has accumulated on the property as well. I would like to take some more shots of this house from the back side and of the surrounding property. The day I shot this pic, I met the owner driving in the opposite direction in his old beatup p/up truck so I knew he would be away. When he sees me on my Wee, he glares at me with hatred in his eyes even though I ride by at 35mph. I assume he hates motorcyclists. I've given a friendly wave but he stares at me. He looks to be in his early 60's with long bushy hair and salt'n pepper beard. He appears to be of the VERY trigger happy type. I could be wrong and he might be a really good guy. Who knows?

Uploading images to Flickr is EXTREMELY slow. I have over 50 pics to post, so stay tuned.

This little pond is located near the corner of Littleton Loop Rd. and hwy 552 in Point, La. What's unique about this pond and the fountain, is that there is no house nearby. It's like a little oasis in the middle of nowhere. The quality and cleanliness of the pond water is evident. It really IS that clean!

The red dirt color in this shot is just that...RED. It's strange how you can move just a short distance from a patch of this red dirt and find fertile loamy soil. The red dirt won't support vegetation very well. Some of this dirt won't even support weed growth!
