Givi E21's delivering steel weldments on Wednesday. They weigh about 20 lbs. each.

Here are photos of my setup. Givi v46 on top and E21's on the side. I have gotten more positive comments on my bike since installing the cases then I did without them.

Great thread!!! Much needed. Thanks guys!

I wish I would have caught it earlier, I would have asked everyone to post up the rear width measurement and approx price of each system. Two of the critical factors in helping us "on the fencers" decide.
I'm liking the 1440's, so I may go with them and weld up a rack of my own ( as long as I can figure out a quick release system for the cases)

Well, because you hinted at a question of width and price-

Width across the rear of my '07 DL650, +/- 45.5 inches. Big? Yep, but there are others that are bigger, and several that are smaller. These are pretty close to the 40 liter set of Hepco Becker boxes I have.

2 Pelican 1440 cases and 2 Pelican combo padlocks, $283 from Case Club, incl. shipping.
SW Motech racks from California Sport Touring, with accessory quick release locks, $263 incl. shipping.
(Check their sites for current prices. Bought Feb 2008.)

Misc. hardware store stuff (stainless steel hardware, paint, etc.) about $30 or so.

Steel tube, under $20.

$596, more or less. I spent more than that to hang the Hepco Becker boxes on my bike. My full story can be found on page 1, message #2 of this thread.

The back rest is a Givi product that I would not purchase again. Takes up too much room and is unnecessary for a passenger using an armored jacket.

That is good info. Thankyou
