iPhone and Cell Phone photos

Shot while at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. I try to take photos of people photographing others and I feel I nailed this one. Her expression is perfect along the warm backround. The "art" on the wall is actually a representation of the tire tracks left by Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti after the winning finish.

This annoying kid (one in the "scuba outfit") kept standing behind Joe for at least 15 minutes. Strangest thing I have seen in a long time. His parents were staring at us waiting for that "hey, you have a cute kid" response. News Flash: I Don't Think Your Kid Is Cute!!!!!!

Have you seen the controversial Abercromble ad that is smack dab in the front of each store? Well, here I am in it, albeit pants pulled up though.

I have such an uncanny resemblance to this movie star (but I forget his name)

Had a wisdom tooth cut out a few days ago. Sedative must have been good.

Sure is a lot of piping there.

So lets see some of your shots.

I don't have that cellphone anymore. I'll have to look and see if those made it into Aperture.

Here's the only cellphone photos I've ever bothered saving. The quality is pretty bad because the lens was very dirty:

Rant Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to admit to being a bit curmudgeonly on the subject of cell phones. This is due, in part to my frustrations with the service providers.

For me, a cell phone is first and foremost, a device for verbal communication. When a phone's voice performance suffers because it's also trying to be a camera, MP3 player and carpet shampooer, it has lost it's reason to exist.

Three years ago, I bought a computer with Bluetooth, at the same time I needed to replace my rain-damaged cellphone. I was about to buy a bluetooth cameraphone only to learn that data could not be transferred directly to my computer, only via the service provider's network, at a charge. Same with a cameraphone with a SD port. Pictures must ride the network. They said the technology didn't exist for that ?!$?!$?!$?!$?!$

Then the coup de gras, last year we were at a Lynyrd Skynyrd (don't laugh, I saw the Flaming Lips the night before) concert where my wife met two friends she hadn't seen in over 20 years. I was the only one with a camera, which happened to be in my phone. So I snapped some photos. When I tried to send them to my email I got an error message.

Later, I called the service provider and based on the error message, they told me I needed to update my software at the local store. Guess what, at the store they managed to delete eveything off my phone, including the the pictures all the stored numbers - everything.

Including the picture below of my two week-old Wee. Fortunately, I got a signal at this Blue Ridge Parkway and sent this to my wife's email as she sat at her computer far below in the distance. I must admit, for a cameraphone it's still a pretty crappy picture.

Sent from my Hewlett-Packard 75C, using the Flying Merkel motorcycle app.

Time to revive this thread.

Out for my Sunday ride - High today should be 80 in Moorpark. It was 58 when I took this on the iPhone:

Here's a link to a few of my iPhone photos.
