Default Ktm 1190 2014

I'm really digging the looks and power of the new KTM 1190 to hit the states in 2014.

As well you should dig it. They build an awesome looking bike that has a very well built look to it.

I like the fact that you can get the "standard" version with 17" rear wheel 19" front or 18" rear and 21" front on the Adventure model. Different choices for different folks.

The KTM 990 has been my dream bike for years, but I wish they would have stayed with the 990. I do love the new looks, but I don't think the bigger engine is worth the extra weight. It already had the most horsepower of any adventure touring bike, and more horsepower then anyone would really need.

Now that I have the funds to buy one, I am wondering if it is what I really want. I think I am going to ride my wee for another year and see how people like the new KTM before making the comittment. I just have to make sure I stay out of any KTM dealers for the next year, because if I go in one, I know what will happen.

The Concours 14 has the same muffler problem and there's an aftermarket product solution that some owners are using to change 'has' to 'had'.

Default jump in

Make the jump. I REALLY enjoyed the DL1000 for 44000 miles. Bought an 09 adventure R. Not saying it is better.........but I really like it. I was safe on the DL til I sampled the other fruit. I had tunnel vision because the DL was what I wanted to ride. The difference in suspension is AMAZING.
Fuel milage I have to work on. Mine is at 37 mpg now and that isn't gonna cut it.

I really like this bike.
In 2-3 years, I might make the move.
