Me too. I'll take it. I don't understand why the author thinks that a skinnier seat makes it more for the road. I love it though.

A lot of the guys on the 1050 forum are pretty excited about that bike.
The biggest things I see that I like over mine are the single sided swingarm, extra power and the improved headlight (a big deal, the headlight on the previous Tiger is borderline dangerous at night).
On the other hand I don't think I'd get in a dither to get rid of my SE to get one.
For those new to the 1050 though it could be a great choice as they are good solid machines with a very charismatic engine.

Looks nice.

Exactly what a Versys rider would want when he grows up.

Seriously, the 1050 engine combined with a bike frame designed for touring on varied-quality roads should be a great seller in a lot of places.

A good friend of ours rides a 1050se. We often trade bikes on our rides. The tiger and the wee.......
They are always a great dicussion.
You all know the wee. But the Tiger also a great bike.
Tons of power. Comfortable like the storm.
Alas..... but it doesn't like the dirt
We all have our vices.
The New tiger looks awesome. But not enough to make me sell the wee-strom.

I have a Tiger 1050. After buying the wee and riding for a while I wondered if I really needed to keep the Tiger. It's better for long distance and I would take a big hit money wise selling so I'll keep it around. The wee is the "go to " bike though.

I often think of this option - keep the Wee and get another much more road oriented bike like the tiger 1050, or maybe go to another 'do-it-all-bike (EDIT: with 130 BHP+..)' ADV (KTM 1190 ADV R or Ducati Multistrada, and no, BMW GS doesn't qualify as anything that has sport riding related to it)

I bought my 2011 Wee last Feb. and just bought a 2008 Tiger 1050, last month. I really enjoy both machines. I questioned myself about keeping both, but for now, they're both staying. I'd wouldn't mind the Tiger with a 650 to 700cc motor.
