I love my new Strom. (4850 miles since July 14th). But I really miss my old mistress. We had a lot of great times together. Unfortunately she had to go as she couldn't perform happily in a threesome like the new strom does. But I sure do miss her. I think I am going to try to find another one. But based on what I sold her for I probably won't be willing to pay as much as she is worth.

It's a beautiful bike, I would have never been able to sell it! I generally don't sell bikes (or guitars) because I know I'll regret it down the line.

That's funny! Actually Peter is always pining away about missing his old Norton Commando, or buying back one of his old bikes. If you don't sell 'em you don't have buy 'em back when you realize you might have made a mistake.

BTW - This GT550 looks better every time I look at it.

Hey...........I've been called a peter plenty of times in the Past!!!

I always thought the "Ram Air" was a cool engineering design........and wondered why other two-strokes did not follow suite. Maybe because it was Patented or sumpin.........or, it just plain didn't really help cool the jugs!?

Peter cracks me up every time I read his column.
I know he strikes a chord in all of us with the druthers. I really don't miss the lack of braking on my Ariel 650 twin, the 30 hp of my Honda 500/4, the hinged, rubber cow, feeling of the frames on the /6,/7' BMW's I had.
Oh, they all looked good and were on the fore skin of motorcycle science when new but that was a long time ago. Many improvements have been made since then. I'll take new.

Sometimes miss the Valk on the highway but don't spend much time there.
