| Other Motorcycles Forum for you to discuss anything about any other motorcycles. Good place for former (and soon to be) V-Strom owners to keep on the site even though they are without a strom. |

.....RC51 is my Sunday morning play bike.
Ducati Monster is my "hop on anytime to ride anywhere for work or play" bike. The RC51 is ridiculous for me. I live where the roads are horrible. I'm old. I can't ride it for more than a couple of hours at a time. I had to have one before I die. It's like having a Formula One car in the garage. Epic. And my RC51 is a Nicky Hayden edition and I got Colin Edwards to sign it, too. Soooo, she is a historically significant bike. Keeper.

My second bike is a Ural patrol two wheel drive. I like taking the dog with me places and still get to ride. Good off road as well if the trail is 6 ft wide that is.

I love it. I injured my back and ride the DR more than my DLK4 now. It's so easy to move around and goes plenty fast on mountain roads.

Hello biker,
My preference for the back woods is a 250 cc with nobby tires and no fancy accessories. These bikes are light enough to upright, will go through anything if you use a bigger rear sprocket, and can be found in ample supply at affordable used prices. Most are very durable and can sit for long periods if you run the gas out of them after each trip out. They are also easy to trailer. Happy riding, Bruce |

Hello Tech guys,
On a recent week long trip, my 2005 V-Strom DR 1000 instrument cluster started periodically initializing while I was riding. Sometimes it would do it when I turned on the turn signal. By resetting, I mean the sequence of checks that the instrument cluster goes through when you put the key in the ignition and turn on the bike before starting it. The trip and odometer meters continue to work as does the temperature gage and two analog meters (speedometer and tachometer). Has anybody had this problem and/or can suggest what to do to resolve it. Thanks, Bruce Koe |

The DL is my second bike, my beautiful TLs will always be first. At least until I put my beautiful, beautiful GSX 1100 E back on the road.

Bruce,
You should have posted your question in a new post, but I'll answer your question anyway. I'll bet $50 that you have a loose battery cable. That's the first place that I'd look.
