Agreed. That's why I purchased the scooter pictured earlier in this thread. It's an excellent little runabout.

Every time I start the big Strom, I feel like I'm cheating it unless I cross a state line during the ride.

My other bike is a 08 KLR650 set up for all road/tracks touring.
Not sure I should call it the other bike tho. As I put more kl up on the 12 Wee I'm starting to wonder if buying it was such a great idea.The KLR is really a much underrated bike and I love the thing,jut a bit underpowered for the long tar road trips.If the Wee motor was in the KLR, and it would ride and handle the same, I would be one happy little Vegemite.
Number 3 is a R90s BMW in the final stages of restoration.

TW-200 -- belongs to the lady -- I'm about the only one that rides it. If I liked it less, I'd recommend that it be sold...

Had a KLR - it was fun - then it was f*cked - previous owner was a doohickey non-believer - he was a fool.

I also don't have any Off road type bikes but have a 2008 Royal Enfield Bullet. I keep thinking about trying to sell it and pick up a Honda CRF250L since it would be lighter and easier to maneuver off-road.

My other bike is a 08 KTM 300 xc-w, thinking about putting the lights back on it to make it a dualsport . Instead of pure off road, it would be Really fun as a Super Motard !!

I enjoy all of my bikes but my V-Strom sees the most saddle time.

A fool indeed! I bought it!

I ordered the aftermarket doohickey kit and the necessary tools.
When I opened it up, the doohickey was broken, along with the springs. Many pieces were located at the pickup screen of the oil pump...

I replaced the doohickey (do you know of what I speak tall man?) an idler gear and some cam chain guides and thought that I had the issue beat despite the fact that the chain had worn into the case in a couple of locations. Tribal knowledge said that the cam chain 'never' is a problem...

On a commute to work the cam chain broke on the freeway doing about 65 mph...

For the KLR uneducated the doohickey has a name something like, "counter balancer idler sprocket tensionser lever"
