My V-Strom is one of three bikes in my stable. I also have a 2007 GSXR-750 and a 2001 XR650R. The gixxer is my canyon carver and track bike, the XR handles off-road and supermoto duties (it's street-legal).

My "other" bikes are a 02 CBR954 for the street, and an 04 GSXR600 in track trim for use at the track.

Klr is a great bike and will not break the bank. Can ride serious off road with it, go on the highway if need be, heck of a lot of fun and reliable.

My other bike is a 99 Valkyrie Tourer with a I/S trunk. Love this bike and still my #1 bike to ride.

....because BMW is a Luxury Brand and purchased by folks with not only a lot of money, but a need to own and project a "premium brand aura".

Those buyers tend to not purchase more pedestrian branded items.

Now, this is in general, and obviously there are exceptions.

Just sayin'.

I've put 53,000+ miles on my 2007 DL650 V-Strom, and have put 3,000 miles on my 2012 GSX-R750. Both are fantastic bikes. (I'm glad I rode a lot on my V-Strom, including classes, before tackling the Gixxer).

09 V-Strom 650 , 06 Burgman 650 and 09 WR 450F yahama . I ride the burgman more than the other two combined but I am 65 years young.
