Got some good response here, thanks. I will definitely find a Vee and a Tiger to test ride. I had not thought about the Bandit, I've ridden a few smaller displacement I4s that were tons of fun but not really touring friendly for lots of reasons, but I suppose an overgrown one would be good at low RPMs. Plus Some of them actually look like motorcycles rather than transformer movie prop rejects..

Why give up the Wee? Just add another to the stable. I did - I call it my wifes bike, I just steer it

I miss my Bandit sometimes. What a great engine! Maybe the quickest bike
I've ever ridden at 40-60 mph roll-on. My legs would get a bit cramped on longer trips. The Ninja 1000 is a good looking machine, never rode on but it just seems fast as hell. |

It just works in the real world really well in all kinds of places. Except maybe deep soft sand where it sucks less than the Vee but still sucks.

i vote BANDIT! i had the 1250 and loved it. but i also had every option available incliding holeshot exhaust, complete suspension front and rear, corbin, fairiings...the bike would cruise over 100 all day long and still get 38mpg. 55mpg in the mountains with low gears and high revs. more pillion room and i would have kept it. i also had the earlier version 1200. it was great too and easier to work on--just not as refined. 1200's in good shape should be had for $2k and 1250 for less than $5k.
