I learnt how to use the multimeter a little better over the last few days, in series between the NEG battery post and the NEG wire I was getting ~.02A drain.
Frustrated and resigned to the fact that it needs more attention, I proceeded to disconnect every wire in the bucket one at a time while watching the meter and found one red/yellow wire that lowered the 'leakage' from .02A to .01A when unplugged.
Then disconnected *every* other wire on the bike while watching the meter and found the only thing that got it to 0.0A was disconnecting the fuse box. I'm beginning to think a little 'leakage' may be 'normal'
I'm in the process of checking all the wiring to the handlebar switches and gauges, found a few dodgy wires. I still have to get inside the alternator to check it.
The up-side, I'm getting very good at dis- and re- assembling a 33 year old Yamaha. And my fancy new Regulator/Rectifier arrived yesterday, but I'm going to try to get everything sorted before I install it though.
I really appreciate the help, and kind words.
You guys have been more help than the 2 stroke forum, stands to reason I suppose, V-Stromers are generally good people!
