650 Suz. Savage question - Stromtrooper Forum : Suzuki V-Strom Motorcycle Forums
Other Motorcycles Forum for you to discuss anything about any other motorcycles. Good place for former (and soon to be) V-Strom owners to keep on the site even though they are without a strom.

650 Suz. Savage question

I noticed it is one cylender (SP). How much pep and go power do these bieks have? I foudn one for cheap, but worried about being able to get up to highway speeds when I am ready (I weight about 255).

I knew a guy who had one, he was a small fry though. I think he used it for putting around town, no highway whatsoever.

savage

from what i have heard it is a well liked bike . as for being a single cylnder . singles have alot of torque and are very satisfying to ride . they viabrate a bit and these vibes can become tireing after a full days ride . there is nothing that can compare to the power felt when lugging a big single 650 . they have the biggest piston . usually 4 inches across or more . a big bore and a short stroke .

Black lab's daughter has one or had one. In discussion with him I remember him saying that he liked it. Its a thumper though. Might even vibrate as much as a Harley!

Thank you for clarifying the question.

never heard of a savage, but...
I had a honda Ascot 500FT. 30 hp same as the savage.
Thumper like the savage, I would do around 85 ish as I remember.
I could out drag most small 4 cycl. sports cars. stop light to stop light.
gobs of torque. great for in town. I rode it on a 1 1/2 hour trip at 70 mph.
and I said never again. Felt like I was vibrating for 3 days after...

Think a tad slower than a KLR
