Honda CRF250L - Stromtrooper Forum : Suzuki V-Strom Motorcycle Forums
Other Motorcycles Forum for you to engage in banter about other motorcycles. Good place for former (and soon to be) V-Strom owners to keep on the site even though they are without a Strom. This is not a tech forum on other bikes. There are other sites for that.

Honda CRF250L

OK so i found a dealer close by (2 hours is close in Montana) :>) that had a couple 2014 crf250ls in stock , called up did the deal , mailed a deposit check . Decided to roll up there Saturday and pick it up. My riding buddy wanted to go along which is great (my wife was happy she didn't have to go) Pulled up at the dealership saw the two crfl's sitting on the line, go over sure enough saw a sold tag with my name on it Cool! My buddy says "what does the tag on this other one say?" it was Sold with his name on it. Here he bought the other one and kept it quiet . It was a great day!!! By the way Lewistown Honda was Fantastic! What a bunch of Top Notch people! Cheers!

Nice bikes. That's what I'd get in that style of bike. What was OTD price on a leftover?

Congratulations, guys!
Looks like fun awaits for the riding season. I read a review of that model in a comparison with the XT I bought and a Suzi I believe. I found an '09 with 3k miles for short money and am looking forward to exploring the local logging/gravel roads to up my riding skills on the Wee. No pretensions about mastering technical terrain here. Just gaining confidence and proficiency on a bike I can toss around a little and not worry about dropping or getting dirty .
It's amazing: there's guys out there that do serious long distance "minimalist" touring on 250's. Got to love that spirit and attitude. Reminds me of the 60's when a 250 was a mid-size bike - and 650's were BIG bikes!

I would like one for second bike. I would use it for transportation on secondary roads in the 25 mile range, and one night camping in the 100 mile range.
And I would farkle it out with a tall windshield and pelican cases.

I like the trick your mate played, I did a similar thing to my mates.

We had a ride planned and in the week leading up to the ride one mate told me he was interested in buying a new bike and was relying on me to tell him what to buy, I said we would have a few beers and talk it over on the weekend ride.

I arrived at the cabin first and set my new WR450f up on the veranda with a spot light on it, when he saw the new bike he called me all the names under the sun.

It was a wet weekend and the WR was perfect for the ride, that week he and two others went out and purchased WR's with the great discount I had organised.

Some of the 19 rides in my shed
2014 V2, Snoopy
2009 Wee, Pumbaa the pig
WR450F, The Blue Postie Bike
YZ250N smoker with rego, Stinky.
Yamaha MT09 (FZ09), The Scud missile.
Club Lead not Club Med.
He with the most toys wins.
Out of my depth in a puddle.
Live life on the edge you will see more that way.

I've had my 250L for a year and a half now and I have more fun with it than I thought I would.I can throw it in the truck and head wherever.

This was taken somewhere in the middle of Cherokee State Park

This one is from the MSRRR 2015.I camped out at Davis Lake between Tupelo and Houston MS.Rode a lot of gravel.

And by the old powder plant on the road tires. This is a great little bike even if it is a little underpowered.

That would be the perfect second bike, for sure. Light, nimble, street-legal, excellent fuel economy. I have the space in the garage for a CRF250L, now if I can just talk my wife into buying one...

I know this is an old thread, but thought I'd revive it since Honda has announced the 2017 CRF250L Rally version...

Looks like some nice features for about $800 more than the standard version...
