Other Motorcycles Forum for you to discuss anything about any other motorcycles. Good place for former (and soon to be) V-Strom owners to keep on the site even though they are without a strom.

Default Sv650

Al,

The SV650 is certainly on my short list.
An ABS model would be cool too.
I think it would work ergonomically.

Right now ($adly) she likes the idea of a BMW F650GS.
Perhaps we could get a test ride in down in Greenville.

Norm

PS: Have you checked ADVrider about another WNCADV rider dinner on the 10th? If so, Ill go.

Norm-
I think Randyo on this site with the DL1000 has a SV650 he takes off road. He may have insight on this for you. Of course the engine is not de-tuned so that extra power is there like a sport bike but I believe with a tire change it could work and I was looking for a co-worker when she was in the market for a bike on E-Bay and used SV650's are not that badly priced.

Just a thought.

Default SV650 Offroad / Lowered Wee

Mike:

I know I've seen pictures either here or on ADVrider of someone on an SV with knobs going through some pretty hairy excreta. It's definately a possibility.

Here's the fun part:

Research, we're gonna test ride a bunch of different bikes.

Also:

I met a lady in Brevard, NC last March or so in front of Dugan's Pub. She was instrumental in my bike selection.

She was on a Red Wee with Aluminim Panniers (Sweetwater 420 stickers, I recall). She had put about 40K on the odo in about 18 months. She was just about to intall a lowering kit.

She appeared to be about the same stature, her male companion was on a HD Off RoadKing. If you're out there
PM me.

Sounds like at 40K she already had a feel for the tall ride.
