So here is my list,FWIW!!!

Fried stator at 13,000 miles.
New RR at 30,000 miles
Mystery charging issue from 30,000 to about 40,000 miles
Clutch chudder from 25,000 to present
New chain and sprockets every 10,000 miles or so

Otherwise a trouble free bike !!!!!!!!.

Well, lessee
The styling is practically identical.
They share some parts.
Naming motorcycles of different displacements as one family is not uncommon (example gsxr 650,750, 1000).
Sounds more like you're worried someone will mistake your 1000 for a 650. Could be a compensation issue......

I'm right there with you, pal.

Never rode a Vee but the 650 hauls my 150 pounds (and gear when it's on there) fast enough. Someone once said you have to shift all the time. Yeah, so? My Sprint had way more balls than either and I don't really miss it. I think the 650 is plenty fast enough, once I get going that is.

Well what can I say but............Weeeeeeeee!

62,000+km, 1 front sprocket, 1 chain, 1 set each of front and rear brake pads.

No issues, routine servicing, tyres, assorted farkles.

Big trips fully loaded, weekend rides and commuting.

More than capable of travelling comfortably well above legal speed limits- even when loaded.

Like a sports car......half the fun is changing gears, especially in the twisty stuff.

Weeeeee

FWIW, my previous bike was a BMW R1150GS, don't miss it one bit, or the wallet emptying ability it had.

Compensation issues? Oh Please...
I have a pair of restored 1970's vintage PUCH mopeds and I actually do ride one of em'
The lil' SOB will get you up to a frisky 35 MPH in a tuck.

And no, its not quite a 2001 Dyna, but I do get some looks from the ladies when I'm cruising the boulevard.
Just sayin'
