And I never ate a Twinkie but can be classified as addicted to Hostess cupcakes.
I think most would agree that qualifying to vote would be a basic test of intelect. If you are smart enough write in your candidate then you surpass the qualifications.

Don't feel bad my friend...
I was a Herman Cain supporter, so ya' know I must really have issues & baggage that require sorting far beyond Twinkies.
Just saying.

BTW: Speaking of uninformed voters on the loose... I haven't had this much fun with an election since I voted for Ross Perot in 92, or was that 96?

Funny that when the government does similar with "our" money it's all well & good.

I could write pages on the good & bad of (skilled) union labor.
As a manager in a power utility environment, I work a lot with various IBEW locals.

The IBEW is basically a handful or hard working, highly skilled men carrying the water for a full complement of not so skilled, not so hard working agitators.
Come to think of it... in that respect it's a lot like the staff of managers & engineers I work with every day.

:
I think we all could. I see it every day where I work.
I'm pretty convinced though that people don't deserve to be screwed out of money that is set aside for their pensions.

I agree. Nobody likes to get hosed.
A lot of workers in my age group have paid into the system for 30 to 40 years and now that it is time to reap the harvest of our many years of labor, we are getting screwed.

I myself am in a very dangerous situation in that manner. I have 30+ years with my present company. I have a lot to lose if they start playing games with retirement funds, (and they very well might).

As you are most likely aware, new employees to most companies do not get a pension per se, they get a personal retirement portfolio that they (not the company) control and own.
In today's market only a fool would give the "company" their earnings on a superficial promise of a pension 35 years later.

It's almost as foolish as thinking that the "government" fairly and effectively uses the tax dollars they forcibly extract form my earnings every April 15.
