That is exactly why I decided to go back and play ME1 & 2 over again. I decided to do two runs, one Paragon, and one Renegade. I've got my Paragon Shepard through ME1 and about 2/3 through ME2. Playing ME1 & 2 back to back, I have noticed a lot of tie-ins that I completely missed the first time.

I'm about 1/2 through ME1 with the Renegade Shepard. Personally, I'm more inclined to go the Paragon route, but it is a lot of fun to be an ass to rack up the Renegade points.

I love the original X-COM. To this day, I still have that game installed on my computer. There are a couple open source versions of X-COM on the 'net that look to be a lot of fun too.

I pre-ordered XCOM Enemy Unknown from Steam, and I'm pretty happy with it. It's good, but overall it's not as good as the original. The high point is the turn based combat; they did a great job with that. Everything else was kind of dumbed down IMO.

Lots more tie-ins in ME3 - to the point where I think you'd miss a good 40% of the references if you hadn't run through 1 and 2.

I also find it much easier and more realistic/balanced to be renegade as the story progresses. At the beginning you sort of have to be a complete d-bag to actually rack up renegade. Towards the end, you can totally see any normally decent human being getting so frustrated at certain situations that they would instinctively respond with the renegade option. I play a total goodie-two-shoes, but there were some conversations when that renegade action came up, I was like "yesssssssss!" and punched the MF out.

Between the wife and son, and riding in the spring, and summer, I dont play alot, but now that winter is creeping up, Ill be on a bit more.

Scorch, haven't been to subsim before (nice site!), but it does bring back great memories. I'm just about old enough to remember playing the original Silent Service, Sid Meier's Pirates, and PT109.

Same handle on Steam, Origin, PSN.
Wow, you were there in the beginning!

Personally I haven't been able to get into any sub sim since Red Storm Rising on the Amiga (a game that I expect most simulation fans would consider too simple, but for me it was awesome!). I've been trying to find a replacement ever since...
RSR is still highly regarded as the right blend of simulation and action.

Haha, maybe your father knows me

I've been playing since Nintendo NES and Burgertime. LOL. Favorites over the years were Golden Eye and Perfect Dark on N 64. Played Black Ops 2 for the past year and now back to Halo 4.

However, you want to talk gaming, you need to meet my kid. 42 Guinness Book records in gaming, 2011 Twin Galaxies World Champion. Lately, he played 43 hours straight to level cap Borderlands 2. Here's an article from EuroGamer on him.

I am the founder and leader of a small gaming clan. We've been going for about 4 years or so now.

Right now we are mostly playing CSGO, which we have our own servers for, and we have a Vent server of course as well.

If any of you here are interested in more info, just PM me.
