My gaming started with the Atari 2600, I took a break after the SNES.............. My then girlfriend now wife nocked me off the wagon when she got me a PS2 for Christmas 2001 since then I have had every system and tons of games. Currently playing Assasinas Creed 3 and Borderlands 2 on 360.

Thumbs up

Gamer since I was a little kid in the early 80s - Apple II, then PC, plus every iteration of the Playstation. I just finished a couple good runs through Skyrim, and I'm currently halfway through an awesome first playthrough of Mass Effect 3 with a character I've been cultivating for more than half a decade. At one point when I was doing my private pilot license, I was big into commercial flight sims.

Scorch, haven't been to subsim before (nice site!), but it does bring back great memories. I'm just about old enough to remember playing the original Silent Service, Sid Meier's Pirates, and PT109.

Same handle on Steam, Origin, PSN.

Recovering Quake2-a-holic.
Its unique gameplay physics set it apart from all the rest.
There'll never be another one like it.

I can tell you that it's totally worth it. They do a nice job of dredging up the past in ME3. You'll miss out on the neat effect of running into people and things that you literally haven't encountered in 3, 4, 5 years - but at least the decisions will be fresh in your mind.

As a full time worker with two little kids at the start of the PNW winter, I was just thinking that my ultimate solo "run away" right now would be making a break to the southwest, tearing up backroads and desert during the day, and then putting my feet up on a patio somewhere in the evening with a steak, a couple of cold beers, and Mass Effect 3 on my gaming laptop.

Ahh, if only.

I recently picked up XCOM - Enemy Unknown on Steam. Sort of a remake of the old XCOM - UFO Defense. It's got a lot of upgrades, though. I highly recommend it if you like single-player strategy games.

Now that's a fact. I played constantly for years multiplayer online. I really liked the weapons mod and, frankly, I dominated the game.

I did not expect this thread to take off so quickly! glad to see that there are some steam gamers. my handle there is milshit (dont ask, made the account a long time ago)
I have played through skyrim as well a few times, and man is it awesome. I can highly recommend the SkyUI mod, as it actually makes the game playable with a mouse and keyboard. I bought ME 1+2 on steam when ME3 came out for $5 a piece, have not had the time yet to play through them as i have got hooked on Assassin's Creed (all of them) Dishonored, Ghost recon FS, and of course all of the COD's minus WAW. I am playing MW3 pretty much daily after work now that the weather does not really encourage going out for a joy ride.

Snowkarver, your idea is the best i have heard in a long time, if only it were a real possibility.
