Default Trying to hold on till the bitter end

Temps are dropping and the forcast is looking wetter and whiter. Been in the lower 40's and have managed to still get out there, but that's my lower limit for now. Any colder and I need different gear than I have currently.

I still was able to clock over 1200 miles since I got my Wee about 6 weeks ago. Really wanted to put as many miles on as possible to hone my skills as a new rider and to zero in on any farkle upgrades I can do over the winter. It's going to be long winter as all I've wanted to do lately is ride. Not sure it's just because it's a new experiance or if I got the bug for good.

I'm really resisting putting stabil in the tank and disconnecting the battery.

Add Stabil now. Disconnect battery later.

I cannot imagine living in a climate that requires putting the bike away for months at a time. It would drive me crazy.

I've never stored my bike for "winter." I may have to park it for week or three here and there, but there's usually a few days in each of the 12 months which are ride-able.

If it's been more than a few days since a ride, or if snow is forecast for a week or more ahead, I put it on the battery tender. I've never used Stabil.

In 1977 age 26 I quit my job, packed my bike and left S. ON for CA looking for warm (riding) weather and to start a new life. I'm happy I did.

I acknowledge that today the job climate is different. I've been pretty lucky.

Gee wiz, but I use Star Tron that I buy at my motorcycle dealer. The dealer's mechanics say its the very best of all the products on the market for stabilizing fuel year round so I add some every time I fill up. Initial use is 1 oz for 8 gallons and after that is 1 oz for 16 gallons.

I have this riding suit which has served me well with the liner. On the morning and night rides to/from work I just have shorts and a t-shirt on. Does well up to 80 with the included vents but after that it's an unbearable sweat fest.

This year (2012) here in Ohio I've ridden every month...It's very seldom that I can't ride at least 1 day each month in the winter...
