I buy the Firstgear stuff and have been happy with it for years. I just purchased the Kathmandu jacket and riding pants from Motorcycle Closeouts.com. Always bought from them and have had no problems, plus quick shipping. The Kathmandu jacket and pants are a matched set and still available in some colors, I got the Black and Gray ones. These are the 2011 models and got both for $350.00 a big savings over the 2012 models. The only difference I could find was in the design of the jackets (looks), you can read about the materials and features and there is no difference between the two. Here is their website: Motorcycle Closeouts I have a riding buddy that has this set and rode from Texas to Canada, through all types of weather including two days of rain as said this gear never leaked and preformed better then any gear he has had in the past.

I went down a couple of years ago (low sided). The Duluth pants did the job. I got a little tear on one leg of the pants where they snagged on something (as I left the bike I suspect). No burn through anywhere. In fact, I still wear that pair (after mending).

Old thread, but I'm still a big guy who still swears by Duluth. That is some tough stuff.

I moaned a bit to my wife about how expensive their pants are getting. She pointed out that I still have the original 2 pairs of pants I bought from them, I still wear them, and they still look brand new. They're probably 5 or 6 years old now.

You guys have got me eyeball'n those Duluth fire hose pants. I have never owned "riding" pants , just wore blue jeans with my other gear. Those intrigue me.

Google for their website and either pick up the phone or order right from their website. For riding, make sure you get the 11.5 ounce material. Duluth's pants come in several weights. They advertise that they have a new material that is 8 ounce weight that is just as abrasion resistant as the 11.5 ounce but I suspect that I will continue with the heaver material if I need new pants. But I am still using the first pair I ordered from them about 10 years ago so that might be a while.
