For the last 10 weeks I have endured a seemingly endless number of enemas, digital rectal probes, bone scans and MRI's. I have endured a hormone shot that has turned me into a menopausal eunich. But today, finally, all of those preparations were put in play. I just got home from my first radiation treatment. This abomination, this foul manifestation that has been growing unrestrained deep in my nether region is getting nuked into submission, cooked by the most primal and lethal forces of nature, then sent to that chamber in hell that is reserved for malignancies.

It all boiled down to 10 minutes flat on my back inside a 5 million dollar particle generator listening to '60's rock and roll as this gray headed assassin rotated around my middle area spewing lethal gamma rays. At onetime, between sounds of the Lettermen and the Lovin Spoonful, from deep inside my pelvic cavity...I could hear it scream.

Only 42 more to go.

Interestingly enough, food is always on my mind. I'm on a no fart diet and that means my diet consists of white bread, white rice, smooth peanut butter, baked fish-chicken-and or turkey. The saving grace is animal crackers as they are both a main course and dessert.

One thing I have learned is that cancer is a family disease. I was just married on August 25th and Renee is my inspiration and she keeps me focused.
