Yes, I did purchase the new crush washer. I have not installed it yet, because I have not changed the oil.

I will let you know if I find a way to alter it before installing it.

And, I will post photographs of how I did it too!

Thumbs up

I remember once somebody was complaining that he had sent a email to Rick of Richland Rick and that he did not get an answer.

Well Greywolf answered, knew where the guy was and that he would be back in a few days.

That really impressed me

He has a calibrated wrist.

Ok, I have worked for a Suzuki dealer, a few years ago but the experience lingers. The crush washers that Suzuki uses are the same as a spark plug washer. This is a low torque application. There fore, I went to the local auto parts purveyor and asked to see his sealing washers. He came out with a box of washers. I had my old one and compared it to the nice ones that have a small rubber o-ring vulcanized to the ID. Same torque or calibrated wrist, as I use for this sort of thing, and your all done. I have never replaced one of these after replacing the original one. I just keep reusing it and it keeps not leaking. I think it was a buck out the door. (incidentally, I got this idea from my Toyota which has an aluminum oil pan. This is the stock gasket, although a different size)

I ended up purchasing the one for the spark plugs.
