Default A Parting Prayer For Malcolm Rose....

I am at a loss for words right now.

I arrived home from work to have received two sort of "urgent" e-mails from Friend and Friend in Ellsworth, and a beautiful letter from Malcolm's former wife, Emily.

Malcolm was killed in a motorcycle crash today.

I am copying all that I know off of the Boothbay Harbor Police Department's FaceBook page.

We are investigating a fatal accident that occured at the corner of Rte 27 and Lakeside Drive this morning. A motorcycle operator was traveling on Mckown Pt. Road, apparently failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of McKown Pt. Road and Rte 27, and struck a vehicle traveling along Rte 27. Our thoughts go ...out to all involved in this tragedy. PLease see next message below;

The operator of the motorcycle was traveling cross country and camping. His family has been notified of his passing.
We believe he is camping somewhere (not in a campground) and we are requesting the publics help in locating his campsite. ...The following is a link to a website blog that has photo's of this person and his motorcycle. If you have seen him and have information as to where he was staying we would appreciate hearing from you at 633-5616

Now, I have to think about how to answer Emily's letter to me.

B.L.

I recently read your post about Malcolm. This is a loss to the community. Sounds like he was a stand up guy on an incredible journey through life. His seemed a life well lived.

Barry, you made us feel like we knew him.

This morning was one of the clearest I've seen on the coast of Maine, 50 miles northeast from Boothbay Harbor. The sunrise was delightful. It started out as a beautiful day.

Barry,

Thanks again for your orignal post.

It let us all think about the brevity of our time here and the urgency with which we should live our lives.

This sad news drives that message home.
