No criticism from me, I thought it was a nice observation.

I presume it's true, I havn't been following the press on this, or the ding-dongs on the boob toob for that matter.

I think Highveelocity already indicated he was speaking of the present .... like in the last 200 years? OK, we'll make an exception for the recent abortion doc killings, but not exactly the same thing.

Yes, very glad to see this and agree. It shows we have a few rational thinking individuals left in charge. But don't worry, I'm confident it'll come up again with the claim that he lived it just as the soldiers did through his counsel of them (if in fact he did counsel veterans).

Cool

Bottom line - This guy took the money to train as a doctor, got paid very well and had a career paid for by the US military and did not want to perform.. In an act of insanity he acted out irrationally.. WTF?

If we did not have to live with
fanatical religious ignorance, bigotry and hatred the world would be much better off. That includes the Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc all thru history
When are we going to realize that? Ever?

How about this. How about we agree that extremists are a bad thing, regardless of the beliefs, religious or otherwise. You gotta be tolerant of others if you hope to get along with others, ya know?

That said, just be careful, alright? When you start thinking of us vs them, dehumanizing your fellow man, then that is where you are able to justify and commit such horrible things against them. I'm sure the majority of folks living there, or here, would prefer peace. Stereotypes are not constructive for anyone. I'm not a religious person of any faith, but I do feel you need to respect people and what they believe.

The shooting is a bad thing, and it certainly has no excuse. I hope the guy gets proper punishment for what he has done.

By any chance, are you a diplomat?

Perspective is an interesting thing. How come the war dead aren't getting 24 hour news coverage?
