Yes sir! They're on the funky side, but then, so are we!

Default Day Trippin

So I started a thread on ADV for Day tripping around central Oregon. I've posted two ride reports over there. The RR's here don't get much action. So if you are part of the ADV community and want to see where I've been riding or want to contribute check it out. Of course I'll continue to use this thread to try and find other Strom riders to ride with!!

Here's my ADV thread:

Lava Lovers Lounge - ADVrider

See ya.

Tim,
I think those goats you saw were female bighorn sheep with young?

That's certainly possible. There were quite a few more and I didn't see any curls so I assumed goats?

There was a story on Oregon Field guide about a release of bighorns just north of were 19 meets 126. The males separated from the herd and were next seen up by the Painted Hills. Apparently there is a sheep farm there and bighorns can not come in contact with domesticated sheep. Domesticated sheep carry a deadly disease for bighorns, and they were debating to put down all the males prior to them rejoining with the herd.

Also if you are planning a ride to Central Oregon and are looking for some route, camping, or hotel information, post up here and maybe we can help make your ride just a little better!

Hi,

I am planning a ride to Napa, CA for later this month. I won't be in a hurry so I'd like to go through Central Oregon on the way down and eastern Oregon on the way back. I will be by myself so plan to stay off the less-traveled dirt roads. Any suggestions on routing through the state or even segments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Default Cascades Route

Here's a "Best of the Cascades" type route. I'll work on another more towards the east.

Hood River, OR to Munson Valley Rd - Google Maps

Here's a more "central" Oregon route. It includes the Painted Hills, Delintment Lake, Fort Rock and an awesome 1 1/2 lane wide paved forest road, FS-28, from Silver Lake to Lakeview. This route might take some time, but what a ride.

Hood River, OR to N G St - Google Maps
