We haven't had an event in a while. Perhaps it's time to set one up. Perhaps even a burger run to meet the local v-strom riders. I'm in Mount Vernon and happy to provide any input that I can. I'm not incredibly mechanical, but I do my own work.

OUCH!! I just replaced my air filter.. MY GOD what a pain in the ars for just a simple swap.
I agree on the Easterbeaver. I put his box in before I added my coocase, gps, heated grips, power plugs.. the list goes on, but yeah, EASTERNBEAVER!!! rocks. We need a mailing list for us in the Pacific Northwest. I dont mind treking up north for a good burger and chat. I only check the forums once a week or so.. so busy riding.. lol Got 5500 miles on my pumpkin just from work and home and down to southern oregon. Seat is just now broke in. Quote:

Anyone still reading this thread? I just blew out a fork seal and have no idea how to replace it, plus I need to adjust the fork setup from its current off road to a more streetable ride.
Any interest in a fork tech session/rebuild fest? It's either that or pay someone $$$$ to do it for me, and I'd rather spend that money on beer for you guys! Tom

Tom, what was done to change the forks to their present configuration?
As I remember, you're kind'a an average size guy. Check the Sonic Springs web site for the right springs for your weight, then get them from Rich at Sonic. (Or ride up to Blaine and get a pair from Blair.) If there has been no change to the damping mechanism inside the forks, get a liter of 10 wt fork oil. Set your spacer length and preload to give you a sag of close to 40 mm. There is a lot more that can be done to tame the front damping with either RaceTech cartridge emulators or Ricor Intiminators damping valves. (Is Blair actually in Blaine, or does he just have a U. S. shipping point there? Speaking with him on the phone kind of gave me the impression that he was Canadian, eh?)
