Hope the family and your property did OK during the storm.
Still places without power even after 2+ weeks!

And thank you saturn 5 for your words of concern for us here in NJ.
The storm was powerful but quick. . .
The aggravating part is knowing that I will be working 7 days a week for the rest of my career putting the infrastructure back together again.
Getting a little too old for these marathon work hours, week after week after week.

Hope all did well in NJ,

These last two weeks were pretty rough.
9 days without power with the cold weather, combined with no gas and an empty fridge.
PSE&G are terrible, their attitude sucks. That's what happens when you have one provider (public services) and no competition

If feels like a 3rd world country.
Why is the electric infrastructure so outdated?? All power lines should be underground just like the gas and water are.
Every freaking storm so many people loose power.

Back in the day

The power company a monopoly was allowed to make 10 percent beyond expenses. They had adequate trucks. Adiitionally they were allowed to clear trees at their discretion before an event.

Then the lawyers came......

Is this political ?

No, it is just that most people have became indifferent and care only about one thing - $$$

People used to have pride in their jobs in the past. Now it is just a job that pays your bills.
I cannot say the same about policemen and firemen here in the US, they seem to still (by and large) have this understanding that their role is beyond just $.

Anyway,
Great to know we have a fellow Strom rider in North Jersey.
