Thought this might help a few people who are thinking of planning next years trips over the winter, and Lord knows the Town of Yarmouth is suffering from the loss of tourism revenue since the Cat Ferry left 3 yrs ago !! Craig

Why would the NS gov subsidize a service that does not pay for itself through tourism or traffic. Seems like a waste of money to me. NS already pays 5 cents a liter more for gas than NB.

It was tried, the cost for the service was too high & people would drive around.

PS I was raised 40 miles from Yarmouth.

Aye! The change to Bar Harbor seems to stem from the busy cruise ship schedule in Portland over the summers. This will also allow for a mid-afternoon sailing from Maine versus the previous late evening departure with overnight service on a slow ship. The CAT Ferry makes the run 3.5 hours so Nova Scotia by dusk in early Summer to well before dark by later in the Summer!
