Things seem a bit quiet in the New England section of the forum, so I guess that means we've been too busy riding.
![]() Maybe we need a place to report our local rides. Feel free to share. The pillion and I recently got back from a short 3-day venture to western MA. The Berkshires are awesome this time of year. We camped out 2 nights at Pittsfield State Forest, then took back/dirt roads south down the mountain range into CT and then headed up the NY side into VT. Beautious and highly recommended. Here's a snapshot of the route: ![]() The southwestern-most part of Mass. is amazing, and you really feel like you're in the wilderness. There's a 10-mile dirt road that goes from Mt. Washington State Reservation into CT that's really REALLY remote, like banjo-playing remote! Here's a pic of our sweet campsite next to a brook at Pittsfield SF: ![]() So, feel free to share some of your New England rides. pmk |

This one has been seen here several times. And yes, Quebec is spelled incorrectly.
This Nova Scotia ride is mostly New England. Also contains video of the infamous Black Lab in motion that was not actually shot by Black Lab himself.

I stay at The Colony in Hulls Cove. Cheap and clean and right out of 1955, July and August cost more. Been going there for years, at least half a dozen times a year.
There are also two NP campgrounds at Seawall and Blackwoods. And a few years ago (yikes 2008!), we stayed on Somes Sound. Me, jackpiner57, and VTstromK5: \

It's been a while but the last time I stayed at one of the in park campgrounds it wasn't great. Sites were very close to each other and it was packed in season. Might not be too bad out of season but not a lot of privacy or quiet IMO.

There's a state park in Lamoine that's supposed to be decent. My guess is that you stayed at Blackwoods.

I stayed at Blackwoods,,,,,it was Sept so it was off season and not so crowded....If it was busyier I would recommend Seawall.....it's a little more private.......Blackwoods is closer to Bar Harbor (where the action is) if that's what you like.........TD

A few years ago, we took our kayaks up to Acadia and stayed at a sweet little campground, north of Bar Harbor, that had very private sites right on the water on Schoodic Point. I'm pretty sure it was called Sunset Something Campground.
